Three ways to find the right hospital
Smart search
Type a hospital name, locality or PIN. It still finds the hospital if the spelling is off.
Recommend a hospital
Tell us your insurer and location. We rank hospitals that suit your policy, putting PPN hospitals first where PPN rules apply.
Common questions
What is a cashless network hospital?
A hospital that has an agreement with your insurer or its TPA, so the insurer pays the hospital directly for an admissible claim. You pay only non-payable items, deductibles or amounts above your cover.
What does PPN mean for New India, United India, National and Oriental policies?
PPN (Preferred Provider Network) hospitals have agreed package rates with the four public-sector insurers. In PPN cities these insurers generally allow cashless treatment only at PPN hospitals; elsewhere you may need to claim reimbursement.
Can I get cashless treatment at a hospital that is not on the list?
Possibly. Under the General Insurance Council’s ‘Cashless Everywhere’ initiative, a registered hospital with at least 15 beds can offer cashless treatment if you inform the insurer 48 hours before a planned admission, or within 48 hours of an emergency admission, subject to the claim being admissible.
What is an excluded hospital?
A hospital an insurer has specifically excluded and disclosed on its website. That insurer does not pay claims for treatment there, except expenses up to stabilisation in a life-threatening emergency or after an accident (IRDAI standard exclusion Excl11). The exclusion applies only to the insurer that published it.
My claim was rejected. What can I do?
Ask the insurer for the rejection reason in writing, compare it with your policy wording, and file a written complaint with the insurer’s grievance cell. If that does not resolve it, you can approach the Insurance Ombudsman. We can review your papers and explain the options.
